Me, Beary and Bak Kut Teh

WARNING : This post is about a pork dish.  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Here am I blogging about food again.  I do not understand why of recent my posts are all on food when I am trying very hard in losing weight.  WTF!!

I guess my life must be boring.  FML!!

Be it boring or exciting, you will just have to bear with me as, I still want to blog about this dish.   Nevertheless, its going to be in the simplest form i.e with pics max loads.  I'll start with a brief LOL

The coffee shop has gone through some renovation.  It used to be a meh-meh place for Cincau.  But in that coffee shop is a stall, a stall that I could not resist.  It serves one of the most yummy bak kut teh around KK.  Some people says the best is at Jalan Gaya, which only operates at night.  Then how about for lunch?  This is where I go to:

Beary : Stay away.  Not enuf for 2!!

What la???? Just trying out mah.  With the additional dark soy sauce, its sweeter compared to the salty light.

Excuse me, I need to make an ugly expression:

  Ahh....... sooooo good!!!  What's the name of that coffee shop?  Here it is:

Its a corner shop immediately to your left on the main entry junction.  Definitely won't miss it.

Wok With Beary

Last Thursday, daddy Beary noticed his sexy shirtless pic while cooking.  He was mad upset that I did not tinkle him.  Pai seh wa.  Shiu-shiu!! (Pai seh = shiu-shiu = shy)

And so to do some justice on him, this post features him cooking (with his shirt on) using his faithful wok.  Gosh, I must have watched too many cooking channels.  Before this was him in Jaime Oliver's character, and now in Stephen Yan's.  Enuf said!

This past week had been a blessed week for Beary did all the cooking while I was.......... clearing the plates.  I have to make a confession here......... (I hate cooking!!).  ZOMG am I lucky or what to have a man who's willing to cook.  And to max-max him with more justice, these were the dinner meals from Monday - Friday:

My Not So Typical Sunday

I just had a sumptuous, yummy-yummy dinner.  Guess what did I have?  But first, let me tell you a story on why today isn't my typical Sunday.

So I gave you an early sneak-peek of my morning brunch.  Here's the pic again:

Typical morning, typical brunch.  Then we headed for the hypermarket and was going through the aisle:

Still nothing special...... until daddy Beary was at this station:

Buying shrimp??

Why is buying shrimp not typical?  Its because we do not do cooking at home lo.  Sundays are usually reserve for eating out lo.  After a week of working, weekends are all about avoiding more work lo.  Besides, it is already work when you consider taking care of 2 young brats and a house lo.

Well, so out we went and paid at the exit counter.  Let's see how much was it:

Nearly RM80.00

WAH!! RM80 for a night's dinner.  Actually not lo.  IT'S FOR A WEEK'S DINNER.  Cheap or what???  I say cheap lo.  Considering everytime we eat out need to use "sui kaw-kaw" lo.  The "sui" here is referred to the term money in chinese.  Kaw-kaw = max.

Immediately upon reaching home:

What is missing here?

 You see the wire danging above the stove?  That's supposed to be for the cooking hood.  Soooooooo wanting the hood 'coz everytime when there's a cooking session, the entire kitchen heats up.  DAMN HOT LEH!!  Maybe that's why we hardly play masak-masak (cooking).  Since hardly masak, no need hood lah.  BUT, I am sooooo gonna budget for one when I get my next bonus.  (Like everytime I promised myself!!!).

While Beary was the head of the kitchen, I sneaked out and ke-poh (mingling) with my knitly close friends.  Ke-lian (poor) Beary preparing everything in the kitchen while I was enjoying my mingling and sipping a warm cup of green tea.  I'll blog about my mingling next time, okay!!??

I swear I did not stay long 'coz I came back  home and immediately bath the youngs and to allow them for afternoon naps.  DON'T wanna show my kids naked la.  But here's an alternative:

Simple spaghetti with canned soup.  No heavy 9 course dinner, but good enough to fill everyone's tummy.  So what's the verdict?  You know how kids are picky eaters.  Either they like it or turn away from it.  Well, the following pictures say it all:

Thinking of Avocados

A while ago I was in the midst of cutting and digging out the flesh of avocados, when it suddenly struck me, why not just create a post on it???  Afterall, its been awhile since I post something about the cincau family.

BUT please bear in mind, at the end of this post, you may summarise all this as crappy sh*t.  Nevertheless, I still want to blog about it.... ha ha ha .

And so, here is my 1st picture after digging out the avocado flesh:

Voila!! Mission accomplished.

This is the simplest way in preparing the sweet savoury.  Of course, there are other ways in presenting this fruit...... such as the experiment made by daddy Beary:
